The inflation rate in the Kingdom rose slightly during the first six months of this year, compared with the same period last year, according to the Department of Statistics (DOS).
The increase in prices in the first half of this year was due to four types of commodities of great importance to the consumer, namely vegetables and dried and canned legumes which rose by 11.45%, rentals by 2.07%, grains and its products by 5.39%, education by 1.85%, fuel and lighting by 1%.
On the other hand, the prices of another group of commodities dropped during the first half of this year, mainly meat and poultry, which dropped by 4%, milk and dairy products by 3.79%, transport by 1%, tobacco and cigarettes by 1.1%, beverages by 2%.
